heaven, and with the humble and lowly; he is the God of gods, and achieves justice for widows and orphans; like a servant he carries the torch before Israel in the desert; like a slave he carries the people with their sins. So he encounters man in what is lowly and restricted and of no account. These accommodations of God to the limitations of human situations also contain in themselves the anticipations of his eschatological indwelling in a new creation. God does not only enter into the finitude
